Raptor Rehabilitation, California, USA

This was our first nature project and got us off to a flying start! Ojai Raptor Center in California take in up to 1500 injured, ill or orphaned raptors a year with the hope of rehabilitating and releasing them back into the wild. Its busiest time of year is nesting season when the center receives many baby birds that need to be taught all the survival skills including how to find food and fly. Outside of this they carry our education programs, explaining the important role raptors play in the ecosystem and inspiring people to protect these beautiful birds.

Caring for the baby birds is expensive though! It costs more than $7000 a month to keep the babies fed and so Ozone was only too happy to play a small part in ensuring that as many birds as possible can be released back into the wild.
